We have exciting opportunities to train to be an Occupational Therapist via the apprenticeship route. Taking this route allow you to get paid while studying and achieving your career goals. For this role, we are specifically recruiting for the MSc route. The OT Apprentice posts are full-time and within CNWL'S Harrow Acute Mental Health Team.
This post leads to a post graduate MSc Degree in Occupational Therapy, approved by the Health and Care Professional Council and accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
On successful completion of the programme, you will be invited to apply for a position as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist within the trust.

Obtaining the post will be dependent on firstly successfully completing an interview process for the trust and then being accepted by Coventry university to study for a MSc OT. Continuation in the post will also be dependent on remaining on, and successfully completing the course.

Main duties of the job
1. Under the supervision/guidance of the Occupational Therapist will develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care on an individual and group basis.
2. Develop and maintain good professional links with statutory, voluntary and private organisations and the multi disciplinary team.
3. To work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and maintain communication networks with staff, service users and carers.
4.To be an active member of the OT Service and wider MDT.
5. To participate in MDT meetings and OT Team meetings where relevant.

Within this 2-year programme, you will spend up to 1,000 hours in study or practice. You will be taught one - two days per week at university (dependent on the course), except during the full-time placements (one on average per year, each lasting 6-8 weeks). During academic modules there is also an expectation of independent study and work place learning of up to 20 hours per week. You will have a mentor assigned to you from within the OT team who will support your learning.
