An exciting opportunity has arisen fora highly skilled individualto join Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) as a Lead Health & Justice Advanced Lived Experience Practitioner.

Working across CNWL's Health & Justice service line, with a specific focus on Surrey Prisons, the role will support and lead on the development and ongoing delivery of CNWL's Peer Support and Lived Experience Practice provision within Health & Justice. This will include close working with staff across Surrey Prisons sites and taking a leading role in CNWL's organisational commitment to the Lived Experience Charter.

Please note that onlycandidates who have worked aspeerworkers (or very similar lived experience-specific roles) andwho have their own lived experience of recovery following time spent in the criminal justice system will be eligible for shortlisting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • promote principles and practice of peer and lived experience practitioner roles across Health & Justice, including prison services, liaison and diversion services, forensic mental health services and VCSE organisations,
  • collaborate and work in partnership with voluntary, 3rd sector and statutory partners to support the development of the peer support and lived experience practice workforce in a collaborative and co-produced manner,
  • support teams to consider and implement new peer and lived experience roles and co-run information sessions promoting the roles,
  • contribute to shortlisting, interviews or assessment centres and hold oversight for eventual induction of new staff,
  • contribute to the Health & Justice Senior Management Team meetings, site-based management meetings and locality wide meetings regarding peer working and lived experience practitioner roles and perspectives,
  • propose policy or service changes for their own work area or beyond their own work area that contributes to a culture across Health & Justice that is therapeutic, productive, accessible, inclusive, flexible and responsive to service user needs,
  • work with the Health & Justice Senior Management Team (SMT) to deliver, budget, manage and evaluate projects and services within Health & Justice and wider CNWL networks,
  • work with senior leaders to identify and facilitate opportunities for co-production to influence the practice, policies and procedures within CNWL.
