Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen for a substantive Modern Matron post at St. Charles Mental Health Centre working across the adult inpatient unit.

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse, a dynamic individual who could inspire and lead the team to excellence. The post offers the successful candidate an opportunity to develop a range of skills and gain valuable experience in aspects of nursing leadership and quality.

The Modern Matron will manage ward managers, nursing staff, clerical/administrative staff together with those who support care delivery. The Modern Matron will ensure that national and service quality standards relating to the ward/unit environment and non-clinical support services are monitored and reported on. The Modern Matron will be a visible, accessible and authoritative presence in clinical areas providing assistance, advice and support to staff, patients, relatives, carers and visitors.
