Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for supervising Recruitment Advisers and Administrators to ensure our service is delivered to a high quality, cost effective standard and is responsive to all of our customers. Whilst ensuring that every recruitment requirement is dealt with in an efficient, customer focused way and KPIs are met, you will have a clear understanding of the wider recruitment needs of the NHS.

You will play an integral part in supporting the Head of Resourcing and Resourcing Partners in the delivery of the NHS Recruitment and Retention Strategy.

Your wealth of recruitment knowledge, including substantial, current experience of the end to end NHS recruitment process, use of HR systems including TRAC, ESR and NHS Jobs is vital to your success in this role, along with experience of supervising staff and providing a high class recruitment service.

  • With the support and guidance of the Resourcing Partners and the Head of Resourcing provide a holistic, high quality and professional first class recruitment service to recruiting managers, employees and candidates.
  • To ensure that all legal requirements and HR best practice as outlined in Trust policies, procedures and relevant NHS guidance and legislation are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure a timely and efficient service is provided to all customers, by maintaining good practices and ensuring excellent communication and working relationships.
  • Day to day supervisory responsibility for the recruitment advisors plus any recruitment assistants and temporary workers within the service. Supervising and assign work to the Recruitment Advisors and delegating responsibility where appropriate.
  • Responsible for the day to day supervision of the recruitment service, fully utilising the electronic systems in place for this role as a method of communication, performance and audit.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to recruiting managers, including leading on recruitment campaigns, advising on appropriate recruitment methods, the delivery of recruitment training and attendance at service meetings to address recruitment requirements and any matters arising.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • A good general education to 'A level' standard, equivalent qualification or significant relevant experience
  • Evidence of ongoing commitment to continuing professional development

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified, part qualified or equivalent relevant qualification or experience
  • Degree in relevant field

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Substantial HR/Recruitment experience, including advising candidates and managers on policy & process
  • Experience of working in an NHS recruitment setting
  • Good working knowledge of current employment law in relation to recruitment and recruitment best practice
  • Experience of supervising staff and co-ordinating a wide range and high volume of activities within a large multiskilled organisation

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a multi - disciplinary/NHS/HR setting.
  • Experience of training others to use systems and processes

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES

Essential

  • IT literate with ability to use electronic resourcing solutions and spreadsheet/databases and produce reports and statistics
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a busy, sometimes pressurised environment, prioritising and working to deadlines
  • Knowledge of all areas of compliance and ability to lead the team to comply with performance indicators
  • Knowledge of Recruitment, Equality and Diversity and Data Protection legislation and its impact on recruitment activity
  • Usage and understanding of recruitment systems including Trac, NHS Jobs and ESR
