Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our Brent/Harrow Pharmacy team at Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

The rotational post offers you an excellent opportunity for band 6 to 7 progression. Progression is subject to completion of necessary in-house criteria and a successful portfolio review. It also offers a great opportunity to develop your clinical and professional knowledge and skills in both physical and mental healthcare settings.

Main duties of the job

You will need to demonstrate a person-centred approach and have effective interpersonal and organisational skills. Previous NHS Hospital pharmacy experience, including mental health, would be desirable. You will also be expected to participate in the weekend duty and on call rotas, following a period of induction and training.The rotational post offers you an excellent opportunity for band 6 to 7 progression. Salary will be based on previous experience, applicants who are currently suitable to practice at a band 7 level, will be considered for a band 7 position.

If you are successful, you will work in a supportive, friendly and forward thinking environment. You will be encouraged and supported in your development through the rotations which will be further enhanced by the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, which you will be expected to complete in your role as a foundation pharmacist. The post-holder will have an opportunity to provide specialist mental health services to sites such as in-patients, home treatment teams and community mental health teams.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 3 month probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
