Main duties of the job

If so, we are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic, innovative and motivated Registered Nurses to undertake the District Nurse Specialist Practitioner Qualification course starting Sep 2023 *subject to funding.

You will need :

  • To be a registered nurse with extensive community nursing experience and a range of post basic qualifications.
  • To hold a DipHe in adult nursingor above
  • To be confident in delivering holistic, expert patient care and hold an extensive clinical skill set relevant to community nursing
  • To provide evidence of professional development in your clinical area.
  • To be dedicatedand work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team, patients, families and carersto ensure the best possibleoutcomes.
  • To be ready to develop clinical leadership skills to improve healthcare delivery within the Hillingdon Health Economy.
  • To be able to demonstrate your understanding of current practice and policy issues relating to your chosen area of practice.
  • You will need to meet Home Student requirements for sponsorship. This sponsorship opportunity does not attract a work permit. Work Permits are not transferable between NHS organisations.
  • You will need to have full access to a car throughout your practice placement.

Essential

  • Current NMC Registration for nursing (Adult Branch)
  • DipHE (or above) qualification equivalent to 120 credits at level 5 (of the Higher Education Credit Framework for England) 2 or evidence of previous education and learning to this level.
  • Evidence of post registration study/learning

Desirable

  • Evidence of continual professional development at level 6.
  • Degree

Experience

Essential

  • Recent experience of working as a registered nurse in a community nursing role
  • Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Evidence of involvement in the management of difficult situations and conflict resolution.
  • Evidence of working without direct supervision and managing own workload.
  • Experience of managing staff within a team.

  • Awareness of the role of contemporary District Nursing.
