Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join a friendly multidisciplinary mental health team based in North Westminster. The OT role will work with service users who require occupational therapy which will include individual and group work, assessment, intervention and evaluation in order to improve clients quality of life and support recovery. In the newly transformed team the OT with this team will not hold a generic caseload however will hold clients who they are actively providing occupational therapy specific interventions to. Opportunity for home working is also available on a 60/40 basis.

Clinical and professional supervision will be provided plus good team support and training opportunities. Supervision of junior staff and offering practice placements to OT students is a part of the role.CNWLNHS Foundation Trust provides excellent support and opportunities for training and development.

The Community team hub is located at Woodfield Road, Westminster, W9 2NW and supports a diverse population. The multi-disciplinary teams is comprised of Medical staff, Nurses, Psychology, Social Workers, Support workers, Peer

Main duties of the job

The Occupational Therapists will support clients with their health and wellbeing goals, set up and facilitate groups/clinics and provide recovery focussed interventions. The work will involve the provision of functional assessments and home assessments to individuals as required which may include recommendations for environmental adaptations, equipment/aids and support packages to maximise independence.

The Occupational Therapists in the teams will play a key role in supporting services users to benefit from the wide range of community opportunities in the borough and have a valuable role in facilitating discharges and transfers. There will be opportunity to work creatively in establishing your role and you should have excellent communication skills and effective team working to establish good relationships with other services and to build partnerships with the many organisations in the borough.

The post holder will have the opportunity to work with the CNWL Recovery & Wellbeing College in co-producing and facilitating recovery focused courses and workshops as a part of the Westminster Recovery College spoke.

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) registered Occupational Therapist.
