Job summary
The CNSS team is a 5 day a week community neurological therapy team based at St Pancras Hospital providing early stroke discharge and community rehabilitation to adults with a neurological diagnosis living in the London borough of Camden. The team is comprised of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, clinical neuro-psychologists and rehabilitation assistants. We have a strong focus on multi-disciplinary working and therapists work with clients in their homes, in the community or at various centres in Camden. The team are based at St Pancras Hospital, near to St Pancras train station and Mornington crescent tube station.
The duties of the service to which you are applying will involve potential to work in a care home setting. This means appointees are required to have the necessary certificate of proof they are either vaccinated or medically certified as exempt and legally able to work in such settings. In order to comply with our duty of care, we require our staff to have the COVID vaccine and we will ask for proof of vaccination during the recruitment process. Main duties of the job
Experience of working with neurological conditions is essential and experience of working autonomously in the community is desired, with the aim of providing neurological therapy in patients homes or in the community .
You will have an interest in working as part of a team to provide high quality, patient centred intervention and will be involved in the triage of patients. The post holder will be expected to identify and promote areas for self and service development.
You will also have experience of managing and supporting junior staff and students, and will have an active role in the formal supervision of B6 OTs and informal support of OTs and other disciplines within the team. You will also have a role in the induction, teaching and training provided to OTs and the wider team.

You will be expected to work closely with patients families and with colleagues from the primary integrated care service and social care, as well as external agencies to provide holistic and effective care.
You will provide complex assessments and interventions to provide holistic occupational therapy. You will be expected to work autonomously whilst drawing assistance from other colleagues in primary and secondary care.
You will be responsible for managing your caseload but have a level of self awareness to be able to seek support as appropriate.
You will be expected to be a team player and work with colleagues within the MDT. This post would be suitable for someone with sound band 6 experience, looking to develop at a band 7 level or equally for an established band 7 therapist wanting to consolidate skills in neurological, community rehabilitation and management. Working within the team you will have the opportunity to work with a varied and diverse range of neurological conditions.
There is access to Occupational Therapy in-service training, and MDT Neuro in-service training, which the successful applicant would be encouraged to attend and take an active role in.
