We're looking for a Band 6 Nurse to join our small but dynamic team. Applicants should have addictions experience and an interest in working closely with a small caseload of clients to help them achieve their individual goals. This is a part time role which includes the opportunity to provide outreach work in sexual health clinics
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be an energetic and enthusiastic nurse with experience in the field of addictions and a proven track record of delivering high quality services in either the NHS, social care or the private sector. Knowledge of Club Drugs and novel psychoactive substances is highly desirable, as well as experience working with the LGBT community. The post-holder will hold keyworking responsibility for a small caseload of clients and will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist and MDT colleagues to ensure delivery of the highest standard of personalised care.
The role is likely to include some outreach work delivering assessments and brief interventions at one or more sexual health clinics
There may be some expectation of evening work, to be discussed with the successful applicant.

About us
The Club Drug Clinic is a unique service, offering the opportunity to work closely with a small caseload of clients. The team is extremely supportive and genuinely multi-disciplinary. We proactively liaise with mental health, sexual health and addictions colleagues and form part of a much larger Addictions Directorate covering a wide range of services including gambling and gaming. There will be opportunities to be involved in research and innovation as well as 1-1 client care.

- To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the management and treatment provision of the specialist service to people with problematic use of novel psychoactive substances with associated problem drink and drug use attending the service/unit, including harm minimisation approaches, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, care planning, individual intervention, health assessments and education and detoxification programmes, pre and post test BBVs counselling and vaccination and group work.
- To provide assessments and brief interventions to substance misusing clients at one or more sexual health outreach clinics in the local boroughs
- To assess continuously the psychological, emotional, social and rehabilitative needs of own clients/patients, taking into account the needs of family, local community and developing systematic plans for care and evaluation of treatment plans.
- To be able to assess and case manage clients who inject drugs, in particular assessing injection sites and be conversant with the precepts of harm minimisation.
- To provide case management and direct clinical care to a defined number of complex clients including clients dual diagnosed with mental health and physical health issues, concurrent with substance misuse
- To use agreed and established Outcome Monitoring Tools (TOP) and any other relevant quality measures.
- To counsel individuals about their substance use and related behaviours, using motivational interviewing, relapse management and other evidence-based interventions,
- To provide clinical advice and support to other colleagues within the health care setting and to other agencies concerned with substance misuse.
- To ensure full risk assessments and risk management is delivered effectively.
