A unique opportunity has arisen in the North Kensington and Chelsea Community Mental Health Hub.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated occupational therapist who is committed to the development of occupational therapy within community mental health and has experience of working in a mental health setting.
Occupational Therapy (OT) in CNWL is very fortunate in having a long-established professional structure and this includes an Allied Health Professional director, Trust wide Professional Head of OT, Borough and specialist Head OTs. This has the huge benefit of ensuring representation of our profession at all levels - both strategically and operationally.
Personal and professional development is a high priority for the profession and is underpinned by our OT Research & Development (R&D) strategy, R&D specialist groups and OT clinical networks. This enables us to invest in the development of our staff by providing excellent internal training as well as commissioning specialised external training and providing quality supervision. This ensures all our OTs reach their full potential at every stage of their career.
We actively support the next generation of OTs through apprenticeships, student placements and the promotion of the profession as a career in schools. We are proud of the diversity in our workforce and have invested time in supporting and developing this further through our BAME Occupational Therapy group.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality individual interventions and group work, using assessment tools and recovery principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment. You will have the opportunity to provide care at all points in the hub journey.
You will also have opportunities to influence practice through supervision of practice placements to OT students.You will also play a key role in supporting the development of Kensington and Chelsea psychosocial therapies offer. You will work in partnership with other Therapists and senior Clinicians to facilitate groups and support service users allocated to step 1,2 and 3 of the Trusts psychosocial vision.
You will provide the multidisciplinary team (MDT) with an occupational therapy service and expertise; this will include individual and group work, assessment, intervention and evaluation in accordance with the Royal College of OT Code of Ethics.
You will need to have current registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).

The Kensington and Chelsea network is joint with Westminster and provides an opportunity to connect with OT's in other services i.e. acute, older adults, early intervention, and perinatal.
