Job summary

The Club Drug Clinic is a cutting edge NHS service for people who are experiencing problems with their use of club drugs and novel psychoactive substances. It has gained an excellent reputation for innovation and high quality patient care.

We're looking for a Band 7 nurse manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will oversee the safe and effective daily running of the service as well as providing care to a small caseload of clients. There will be opportunities to be involved in teaching and training, research and service development. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced substance misuse nurse to develop their knowledge and expertise in a highly specialised and innovative area of treatment.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be an energetic and enthusiastic senior nurse with experience in the field of addictions and a proven track record of delivering high quality services in either the NHS, social care or the private sector. Knowledge of Club Drugs and novel psychoactive substances is highly desirable, as well as experience working with the LGBT community. The post-holder will be provide management and leadership to the multi-disciplinary team and ensure the safe daily running of the clinic, as well as holding keyworking responsibility for a small caseload of clients.

There may be some expectation of evening work, to be discussed with the successful applicant.

The statutory requirement to be fully Covid-19 vaccinated as a condition of deployment from April 2022 is subject to legislative review. About us

The Club Drug Clinic is a unique service and this would be a great next step for a nurse experienced in the area of substance misuse. The team is extremely supportive and genuinely multi-disciplinary. We proactively liaise with mental health, sexual health and addictions colleagues and form part of a much larger Addictions Directorate covering a wide range of services including gambling and gaming. There will be opportunities to be involved in research and innovation as well as team leadership and 1-1 client care.
