Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an extended scope physiotherapist (ESP) to join our team of ESPs within the Community Musculoskeletal (MSK) team in Ealing. The service is led by a Consultant Physiotherapist and is supported by an MSK Physician, a Consultant Neurosurgeon, as well as an administrative and secretarial team. The team is also developing a first contact practitioner team to provide a range of areas for clinical experience who work alongside the extended scope physiotherapists.

The successful applicant will have extensive neuro-musculoskeletal outpatient experience in addition to experience of orthopaedics and rheumatology or pain management (previous experience as an ESP is an advantage but is not essential).

The MSK service in Ealing is well established and provides a high level of training, clinical supervision and support. There are also opportunities to take part in a range of innovative service orientated or clinical projects whilst you develop your clinical skills

The post will be based within one of our Ealing community sites and will also incorporate some Agile working.

Main duties of the job

The Musculoskeletal Extended Scope Practitioner / Clinical Specialist is responsible for assessment, treatment and when clinically appropriate the onward referral of patients referred to primary care interface clinics.

As a senior member of the musculoskeletal team, you will provide support to the Consultant Physiotherapist/MSk Lead and the Physiotherapy Team Lead in the day-to-day running of services and in the evolution of musculoskeletal services within the Trust.

Vaccination

The duties of the service to which you are applying will involve potential to work in a care home setting. This means appointees are required to have the necessary certificate of proof they are either vaccinated or medically certified as exempt and legally able to work in such settings. In order to comply with our duty of care, we require our staff to have the COVID vaccine and we will ask for proof of vaccination during the recruitment process. If candidates are unable to meet the requirements then their application may not be progressed and a refusal to provide such evidence is grounds for an offer of employment to be refused.
