Job summary
We areseeking a highly motivated sonographer to work within our friendly ultrasound departments.We are aforward thinkingdepartment, committed to training,encouragingand supporting personal development. We have 2 lead sonographers in place acrossthe Trustto support the sonographers and help develop the ultrasound service.
We are a friendly cross bay team who are hoping to recruit a new member of staff to support out departments.

Main duties of the job
You will be a flexible team player with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. You willbe requiredto organise your workload according to demand, scanning inpatients,outpatientsand GP referrals. We expect a high quality of patient care tomaintainour efficient and cost effect service.
The Ultrasound departments operate7dayworking. You will be expected toparticipatein the weekend and bank holiday rota. The service supports flexible working arrangementsthe majority ofour team contribute to extended days through flexible contracts.
Although based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary you will be requiredto provide cover at all Trust Sites as the service requires.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, Heysham Health Centre and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our Community Service for adults are provided in community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent , improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care , advice and support.
