Job summary
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness peninsula, the city of Lancaster and the Lake District. Clinical investigation Services are provided on three sites, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Furness General Hospital and Westmorland General Hospital.The post will be on theRoyal Lancaster Infirmarysite.
An opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, committed team in clinical Investigations. We are looking for a motivated, dedicatedand enthusiastic individual.
The Clinical Investigation Unit provides a wide range of invasive and non- invasive services. We have a dedicated Cardiac centre based a Westmorland offering Angiography, pacing and CRT services and the introduction of Dobutamine Stress echo.
Applicants must possessBSE accreditationand have proof ofContinued professionaldevelopment, excellentcommunication and customer care skills and demonstrate a willingness to work both independently and as part of the wider team.
Main duties of the job
To work effectively and efficiently as part of the Clinical Investigations team in providing a high quality service, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
To undertake, supervise and at a highly specialist level in Echocardiography. Provide a broad range of complex non invasive Clinical physiological procedures on patients, to inform clinical diagnosis, advises clinicians, interpret results and provide factual reports e.g. Echocardiograms and to maintain any other existing skills.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - FGH, RLI and WGH, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom, GP practices and QVC and Ulverston Health Centre.
FGH and RLI have a range of general hospital services with Emergency care and critical./ coronary units and various Consultant led services.
WGH provides a range of general hospital service, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostic, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In additional, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in peoples homes, community centres, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
