Clinical Support Worker - Day Treatment Unit

Job summary

A rare opportunity has become available for a dynamic individual to join the Day treatment Team to cover maternity leave for one year.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be ready to embrace ongoing change as we continue to expand and diversify our Day treatment Unit, and become an integral part of the team in the process.

We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic , self driven individual to join us.

Main duties of the job

To be accountable for own actions. To be able to work autonomously within scope of practice, and reporting back to the RN's.

Supporting the nursing team to ensure that the patients receive treatments, blood tests, observations in a timely manner.

The role involves direct patient contact, including observations, blood test, an element of admin in outcoming blood clinics and booking patients in for ongoing treatment electronically.

Venepuncture and cannulations skills are desirable but not essential.

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
