We are delighted to be offering the opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. This is an excellent opportunity for a Microbiologist to further develop their skills.
The hospital is a Trust of 2 site bases with Microbiology on its acute sites. You will be based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with an expectation to cover Furness General Hospital as required. All of our hospitals offer a warm, friendly environment which we pride ourselves upon.

Main duties of the job
The role of Infection Control Doctor, antimicrobial stewardship lead and Clinical Lead may be held, as part of this appointment, rotationally with Consultant Microbiology colleagues

About us
Royal Lancaster Infirmary is based within the Historic City of Lancaster. Furness General Hospital is based in North Lancashire close to the Lake District. Westmorland General Hospital is located on the outskirts of the popular Lakeland town of Kendal.
We operate from three main hospitals - Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
RLI and FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
