Job summary
The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMB) invites applications for a full-time Specialty Doctor in Orthodontics to join our busy Orthodontic team. This post attracts 6 PA's in total with set working days of Monday, Thursday and Friday.
The post will be based in Lancaster at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but will also involve clinical activity at other sites within the Trust.
For the successful candidate the job plan will be negotiable.
Main duties of the job
The maxillofacial unit also provides teaching for those for University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) students based at the Morecambe Dental Education Centre and has close links with UCLan School of Dentistry in Preston. The teams has recently been joined by Honorary Consultants in Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics, based at UCLAN and there is scope for further development in this area.
There are offices, secretarial and computer facilities on all of our sites. We have and electronic EPR and PACs system for radiography and digital photography across the Bay.
There is a fully equipped maxillofacial laboratory based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with high quality and skilled technical support.
You should be fully registered with the General Dental Council with a licence to practice and ideally be on the specialist list for Orthodontics
About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
