This role is a static Band 5 Physiotherapist role within Musculoskeletal Out Patients. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills with support from experienced Specialist Physiotherapists. Although based in out patients this role will require some ward based weekend work on a rota basis. This will be supported with training.
Main duties of the job
The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust (UHMBT)wants to provide sustainable high quality medical services that fit with the Better Care Together integrated model of care - high quality specialist hospital services wrapping around community based teams to deliver responsive specialist expertise within both acute hospital and community settings and helping to keep people well and to manage their long term conditions closer to home. We work as a multi-disciplinary team and you will have the opportunity to contribute to service improvement, helping to develop and improve our pathways of care for our patients.As a Trust we actively support you to develop your knowledge and skills via our Annual Development Review programme and you will have the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced Specialist and Advanced Physiotherapists. We offer a clinical in-service training programme and supervision sessions.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

Essential
- Health and Care Professions Council registered Physiotherapist
- Honours Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy approved by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/ Health Professions Council
Desirable
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Experience
Essential
- Comprehensive experience at undergraduate level of the core competencies within physiotherapy for example: musculo-skeletal, neurology and cardio- respiratory care.
- Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills in English in a variety of settings.
- Evidence of specific MSK experience including training and development opportunities.
Desirable
- Experience of working within a team

- Must be able to demonstrate the confidence to take independent action within expected capabilities.
