Job summary
The Ophthalmology Team at RLI are looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Leader. As the successful candidate you will need to be motivated towards developing and maintaining standards within the nursing team to promote high quality patient care. You will be expected to support the team and Department Manager through future service redesign based on the Better Care Together programme and service developments that continue to improve a patient centred service.
You will need to have experience within ophthalmology and an appreciation for the Trust vision and commitment to patient focused care. Also experience in staff management would be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as a effective team leader, providing support and guidance for the wider nursing team whilst actively looking to improve the service to provide high quality patient focused care.
As Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for the daily coordinating of both doctor and nurse lead clinics to ensure safe and effect patient flow through the Ophthalmology Department. You will also need to have an open mind and positive outlook in developing team skills and knowledge.
About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
