Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity to join UHMB's Integrated Community Stroke Team (ICST) based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for an AHP who is ready for a Team Leader role in Stroke.

The team leader post provides operational and clinical leadership to the team of AHPs and Assistant Practitioners across inpatient and community pathway, supported by the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.

The team leader will be an active member of the wider Stroke MDT contributing to our UHMB stroke improvement plan.

We are actively involved in regional stroke pathway developments- Neuro-rehab online (NROL) which is a fantastic opportunity to work with colleagues across the region.

We have a 'one team' approach across the Bay, so the post-holder will have a strong working relationship with the Furness ICST, to ensure that all our patients across the Bay have access to timely assessment and rehabilitation programmes.

We offer -clinical and management supervision and access to in-house CPD programme & access to leadership programmes to support career development.

About us

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
