Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader for the Integrated Children's Nursing & Therapy Team (ICNT) across North Lancashire working within the Trust's Women's and Children's care group. This post is open to Qualified Nurses and Allied Health Professionals with the relevant qualifications and experience.
The purpose of this post is to provide clear and effective first line management to an integrated team of multi professional staff, ensuring that the services they deliver are coordinated, focused on quality and valued by children, young people and their families.
The team covers targeted/commissioned health services across North Lancashire and includes
- Community Children's Nurses
- Specialist School Nurses
- Physiotherapists
- Occupational therapist
- Speech & Language Therapists
- Hearing Services
Main duties of the job
- Lead the provision of high-quality patient care, ensuring the service continually meets the needs of children, young people and families
- Act as a role model, developing a positive leadership style and promoting commitment to high standards of care and professionalism
- Effectively organise the team resource to facilitate safe levels of care at all times taking into account individual preferences and financial constraints.
- Lead in the professional development and performance management of staff including mentorship of students. Provide regular formal management supervision and feedback to team members encouraging reflection on actions and practice.
- Keep up to date with practice development or professional issues, and support staff for which the post holder has responsibility to do the same.
- Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively and collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals in health, social services, education and the voluntary sector to ensure the protection of vulnerable adults/ children.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
