This post is subject to an enhanced check with adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £44.00, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner the post holder will implement a range of individual and group activities. The post holder will be required to use their initiative when working independently on the wards and are expected to report any clinical progress or change to a qualified practitioner.
The post holder will work to assist with the continuity of care for service users on their journey through the acute service.

Under the direction of the qualified practitioner, participate in the delivery of planned care within both inpatient and community environments. The post holder will undertake a range of duties which include:-
- Facilitate and support the development of appropriate personal care
- Facilitate and support self help, communication and social skills acquisition
- Assist and promote independence with activities of daily living
- Facilitate a service users recovery by assisting them to participate in social, vocational, recreational and leisure activities within the appropriate setting
- Participate in the implementation of specific programmes of care or therapy to develop and enhance socially appropriate adaptive behaviours under the supervision of qualified staff
- Participate in regular supervision, engage in reflective practice and be committed to continued development
- Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated.
- Ensure appropriate records are maintained under the direction of the qualified practitioner.
- Contribute to the involvement of service users, and carers/relatives in the delivery of care
- Provide reassurance and support to service users and carers/family
- Work collaboratively within the Care team to ensure that service users needs are met
- Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations
- Provide escort for service users and undertake transfer of service users as directed

- Contribute to the effective and efficient use of resources
- Understand and adhere to Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines
