Applications are invited for the post of specialty doctor in paediatric radiology. Duties will include all those duties normally expected of a Specialty Doctor in a similar sized Radiology department in the United Kingdom; with the majority of the appointee's time being spent on clinical duties.

The post is based at both James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital and the successful candidate will be expected to take part in the acute and elective diagnostic radiology workload for the local population. In addition, cross site working at our Group structure partner (University Hospital of North Tess & Hartlepool) may be required as both Trusts are part of University Hospital Tees.

Main duties of the job

Support the diagnostic radiology service for University Hospitals Tees.

Work independently and under consultant supervision as appropriate, and supervise others.

Demonstrate leadership through positive role modelling and team working.

Assume a continuous commitment for the care of patients and ensure, in consultation with colleagues, that adequate arrangements are made for leave and off duty periods.

Promote high professional standards of clinical care for patients, both through direct patient care and by the maintenance of continuing professional development.

Take an active role in the management and organisation of the radiology department including contributing to teaching, research and audit.

Take part in annual appraisals and revalidation.
