Advanced Clinical Pharmacist - Perioperative Medicine

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist within Perioperative Medicine, Theatres & Ophthalmology to join the Pharmacy team at South Tees Hospitals.

The post-holder will be required to innovatively develop the role, and work on their own initiative. They will work closely with Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician for perioperative medicine, as well as within the Ophthalmology and Theatres multidisciplinary teams and wider pharmacy team, ensuring that services are provided in accordance with relevant professional, ethical, legal and locally agreed policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

The post-holder will be a key member of the clinical pharmacy team, making major contributions to the development and delivery of pharmacy medicines management strategies and the implementation of development plans for pharmacy services

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver safe, effective, and optimum clinical pharmacy services to patients at South Tees Hospitals in addition to providing expert advice, guidance and information on treatment choices, medicines use, clinical pharmacy and financial issues to senior staff and mangers within the services.

  • Experience of providing directorate level pharmacist services e.g. budgetary reports, drug usage reviews
  • Developments of protocols and policies
  • Experience of developing strong professional relationships with other healthcare professionals
  • Experience of leading and contributing to relevant research, audit and service improvement projects
  • Experience of involvement in multidisciplinary service development

Desirable

  • Experience in mentorship and training for other staff

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Pharmacist independent prescribing accreditation or actively working towards qualification

  • Evidence of CPD and ongoing education
