Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic qualified Cardiac Physiologist with a keen interest in Echocardiography. The role creates a fabulous opportunity to train and develop in echocardiography while maintaining all the other skills the posts has in invasive and non-invasive Cardiology.
The post holder will rotate both through echo and Invasive/Non- invasive diagnostic cardiology including Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and pacemaker/ICD implantation, helping to ensure that diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are carried out to the highest possible standard.
This role has been designed to allow the candidate to train in Echocardiography to allow them to gain knowledge and experience from our highly skilled Echo team.
The post holder is expected to achieve BSE accreditation within 18 -24 months of commencement of Echocardiography training, The successful candidate will commence on a Band 5 and they have gained the BSE written exam they will achieve Band 6 status. Band 7 status will be awarded once full BSE accreditation is attained and departmental competencies have been achieved.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in all the procedures and activities of the Cardiac Investigations Unit and Cardiac Catheter Laboratories,
Continuous clinical and technical advances require that the duties of the post will change and evolve; the post holder has a duty to ensure that his or her knowledge is up to date.
The job involves working cross site between The James Cook University Hospital and the Friarage Hospital (Northallerton) and newly developed Diagnostic Hubs .
The post holder will be required to work on a rotational basis as part of the multidisciplinary team within the cardiac catheterisation laboratories, participating in an on-call rota to ensure continuous emergency cover out of hours as required.
This post is also subject to extended working days and weekend working.
