Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Orthopaedic Practitioners to join our expanding team. The post holder will be expected, as part of the team, to provide a high quality service to the Fracture / Outpatient clinics, wards, theatres and Accident & Emergency Department. The post is open to applicants who have completed and obtained the nationally recognised qualification in British Orthopaedic Casting and are currently working as plaster technicians.
The applicants will work across all hospital sites James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and the community hospitals, providing care to both adults and children.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, skilled, confident, caring, team players and committed to delivering a high standard of patient care
Main duties of the job
To apply and remove plaster casts in line with British Casting Standards, ensure the efficient running of the Plaster room. Work with the Orthopaedic Consultants and multi disciplinary team in providing high standard Plaster casts and removals.
Provide training and support to the multi disciplinary team and trainee Plaster Technicians.
Trauma Outpatients is a busy department with a footfall of approximately 100 patients per day attending appointments. The team is comprised of nursing staff, Health Care Assistants, and within the Plaster room there is a team of Senior Orthopaedic Practitioners and Plaster technicians.
