Job summary
The Urgent Treatment Centre aims to provide a high standard of personal care to patients, relatives and carers.
A friendly and welcoming approach is vital, as well as being patient and understanding, as patients, relatives and carers may well be anxious, angry or upset; thus offering reassurance.
You will be able to follow instructions, work accurately and methodically, work as part of a team, but also able to use own initiative.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across 7 days a week/24hrs (days, night's weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis) to ensure that the service is covered and to meet the changing needs of the service.
Band 3 requirements:
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or Maths & English GCSE A-C/4-9 or Maths & English O Level/GCE A-C or Maths & English CSE Grade 1 or NARIC/ENIC which compares the qualification to UK GCSE (https://www.enic-naric.net/)
- Care certificate
- Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;- Theoretical knowledge- Experience of a range ofcare and related procedures- clinical observations- knowledge of relevantlegislation
Main duties of the job
The role will require you to ensure that daily cleaning is performed, stores and equipment tidied away and that the patient areas are damp dusted after use in line with infection control measures. This job also includes basic Reception duties; full training will be provided.
Provide and receive basic routine information to/from patients, occasionally of a sensitive nature in relation to attendances, correspondence and associated Trust Processes, Policies and Procedures.
The successful candidate will work within the multidisciplinary team delivering high quality care to patients presenting to the UTC
The post holder will be expected to develop knowledge and skills within the specialty and will assist in the management and delivery of compassionate, high quality patient care.
The post holder will work with GP's, Nurse Practitioners, Emergency Care Practitioners, Advanced care Practitioners, reception and support the training of student nurses and work experience stuudents.
The post holder has a duty of care to patients and is expected to comply fully with all Trust policies in particular policies relating to personal and patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections.
