Ward Manager - Neurology Acute Stroke Unit

Job summary

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 ward manager to lead our Neurology Acute Stroke Unit, NASU.

We are looking for a 1st level registered nurse who has the drive and motivation to ensure our patients receive the highest level of quality care. You need to have excellent clinical knowledge and demonstrable leadership qualities, and the expertise and passion to drive and support the team to maintain excellent standards of patient care

NASU is a fast paced 34 bedded unit, which includes a six bedded Monitored Bay and assessment bed, 2 Monitored Beds for telemetry, caring for patients from the early stages of stroke who require close monitoring and specialised interventions, to them starting their rehabilitation journey. They also care for patients with a range of complex neurological conditions .

You will join a hardworking and supportive multidisciplinary team, making it a rewarding and enjoyable environment to work.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be expected to oversee and provide the delivery of high-quality specialist care.

The post-holder will be expected to provide an expert clinical and leadership function in the assessment of care needs for this patient group, with an emphasis on care delivery and management of the in-patient service.

They will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team by demonstrating a range of essential specialist nursing skills to meet the needs of this client group.
