An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Clinical Lead Audiologist role working in Auditory Implants within South Tees Audiology and the North East Regional Cochlear Implant Program (NERCIP)
NERCIP and South Tees Audiology is a large service with over 60 staff; who are proud to deliver a high quality, innovative and comprehensive NHS Audiology care. The main purpose-built department is located in The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic person with clinical experience in auditory implant services. We are keen to hear from people with advanced assessment skills including working with adults with learning disabilities and children. This post will involve some managerial responsibilities, including line management.

- oBSc Audiology or equivalent
- oMSc Audiology or equivalent
- oBAA Higher Training Scheme Certificate of Clinical Competence in service area, or equivalent
- oRegistered as one of the following (or eligible for registration): oHCPC as a Clinical Scientist oRCCP as a Clinical Physiologist oAHCS as a Healthcare Scientist
Desirable
- oBritish Sign language level 1 or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Essential
- oSignificant and recent post qualification experience in Auditory Implants (see specific person specification)
- oDetailed knowledge of manufacturers and devices for auditory implants
- oDetailed knowledge of national guidelines for auditory implants and related NICE guidelines
- oDetailed knowledge and significant recent practical experience of auditory implants.
Desirable
- oDetailed technical knowledge of routine and non-routine hearing aids, to include CROS systems and BAHA
