Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Plain Film X-Ray Imaging department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to work within the radiography team. A foundation Degree in Health and Social Care, Certificate of higher Education or Diploma specialising in Radiology, or currently working towards is essential to this post.

The department includes the provision of plain film x-ray, dental (including cone beam CT) and theatre services as well as specialist modalities, including US, CT, MRI and fluoroscopy/interventional radiology.

The successful candidate will be a role model for demonstrating our Trust's values through their leadership attributes and be committed to providing high quality, patient focused patient care.

Although the successful candidate will be employed by STNHSFT (South Tees Foundation Trust), there will be an expectation of collaborative working across the Tees Valley in the future should the need be required. However, this role is primarily for STNHSFT The James Cook University Hospital Plain Film services. The successful candidate will join the Community Plain Film roster STNHSFT and work across all service sites. Successful candidates will be an employee of STNHSFT and managed as per the governance arrangements currently in place for Radiology and the organisation.

Main duties of the job

South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals. South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is already nationally recognised as one of the leading healthcare providers in England for the quality of our services. The Trust is a designated regional Major trauma centre with a 24-hour acute admissions unit and specialised services in cancer, neurosciences, vascular surgery, spinal injuries, cardiology and renal medicine.
