Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Paediatric Unit at The James Cook University Hospital to employ a Clinical Support Worker Higher Level The role within CYPED is to support the nursing team in providing direct patient care to children and young people.

We are an emergency department and care for children aged 0-18 years attending with medical and trauma related emergencies. We also have a co-located paediatric admission unit which GP can refer children to be seen by the paediatric team and you would be expected to work in both areas.

Applicants must have:

  • Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 (GCSE A-C/4-9)
  • Care certificate
  • Level 3 vocational qualificationor Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care dutiesand/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;- Theoretical knowledge- Experience of a range of care and related procedures- clinical observations- knowledge of relevant legislation

Main duties of the job

Experience in health care is preferred, with experience working with children and young people desirable. Applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills, be enthusiastic, well motivated and share a commitment to team working.
