Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit registered Nursing or Operating Department Practitioners for the newly built Friarage Surgical; Centre in Northallerton.
The Friarage surgical Centre, due to open early 2025, will have outstanding working environments and we would highly encourage those applicants with perioperative experience and those with a keen interest in developing their professional skills in perioperative medicine to apply for these highly desirable vacancies. The Friarage Surgical Centre will be a fast paced environment delivering a range of surgical specialities over a 6 day period (Monday - Saturday) working hours will be varied between 0800-2100. Work patterns are subject to service demand.
Team members will be given full training to enable them to rotate through a range of surgical specialities within a variety of job roles to ensure their professional and personal development is maintained.
Working in close collaboration with our main theatre department at The Jame Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, staff may take advantage of training opportunities whilst providing clinical support.
Main duties of the job
The new estates will have 6 large ORs, 2 minor ORs, a dedicated 2 bay regional anaesthesia room, 12 bay recovery and admission and discharge areas. The staff areas features dedicated Surgical Centre staff changing facilities, staff rest areas with landscaped gardens and roof terrace and a purpose Resource / Training room. A range of state of the art equipment and digital technology will be seen throughout the build ensuring staff are fully equipped to deliver the best quality of care
As a registered theatre nurse of ODP you be an active member of the perioperative team providing exceptional safe and efficient care to the patients within our care. Using clinical skills, autonomy and judgement you will provide hands on care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures and under a range of anaesthesia techniques. Whilst promoting operational efficiencies you will also maintain patient safety to the highest level and with compassion.
