Job summary
An exciting role has arisen within the conferences and courses department as an event coordinator organising medical education events and large-scale conferences. This role requires someone who can work very flexibly, covering early starts and late finishes on event days. The post holder working part of a larger team will need to work on their own initiative but also as part of a very busy team. The ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands is essential. Having a can-do attitude and willing to travel across the region to attend events is essential.
As a customer service-based role a welcoming and friendly approach with excellent customer service skills is key along with exceptional coordination/organisational skills.
Excellent working knowledge in the use of all Microsoft office packages, particularly word, outlook, excel, access and PowerPoint is required. Along with any experience of using online systems, websites, social media and video calling/online meetings via zoom, teams.
Main duties of the job
The conferences and events department provide a highly professional conference service to both internal and external clients. The service provided by the events team means that the team manages events on behalf of the client, ensuring its efficient and effective delivery.
The events coordinator has the responsibility for the planning and organisation of an allocation of events requiring them to manage their own workload unsupervised as well as providing exceptional administrative skills to the senior leadership team.
Events include internal trust training, accredited courses, national meetings, examinations and international conferences all of which are held both internally within the Trust and externally off-site at various venues.
This post involves all pre-planning, on-site support, day to day management and post event evaluation.
