Job summary
South Tees Foundation Trust Pharmacy Department is proud to advertise this post of Advanced Clinical Pharmacist for Multiple Sclerosis.
We are seeking a pro-active, hardworking, passionate and forward thinking individual to provide pharmacy expertise, clinical excellence, leadership, innovation and development in MS management. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver seamless care for patients with MS. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Neurology, MS or Long term Conditions management, and holistic patient care. As treatments for Multiple Sclerosis continue to advance, this post provides a varied experience as well as flexible and challenging opportunities for personal and professional development.
Main duties of the job
You will provide expert advice, education and support to the patient with MS and their families/carers from the time of diagnosis and throughout the course of their condition. This will be achieved by working collaboratively and establishing good and effective working relationships across the primary secondary care interface. You will liaise with key people within South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust including Pharmacy, Homecare services, Obstetrics, Neuropsychology and other key partners. You will provide expert pharmacy advice and promote a wider understanding of MS for other professionals through education and training.
The role of the pharmacist is multifaceted incorporating key functions such as policy and standards development, practice development, service development, education, research and audit and personal and professional development. The ultimate aim is the provision of a cost effective, efficient, excellent quality service which meets the needs of the patient caseload / client group.
