The successful applicants will join the well established Adult and Children Social care team in Redcar and Cleveland Council.
The focus of the Occupational Therapy service is to promote the independence of adults and children through assessment, specialist advice, equipment and adaptations, working with a wide range of internal and external partners.This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapy team. Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and regular support and supervision will be provided by a Assistant Team lead/Band 7 Occupational therapist within the team. Participation in service developments and clinical governance is also expected, for which there is excellent support throughout the integrated OT service to help you develop.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the Trust the postholder will also be part of the wider Integrated OT service. This is a unique partnership between Health and Social care in South Tees with a commitment to working together, improving the quality of our services and getting rid of existing barriers between health and social services.

We are looking for a highly motivated occupational therapists with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and on your own, frequently using your own initiative. You will often work with a wide multidisciplinary team and be involved with clients with a range of multiple medical, social and emotional problems. The role will include carrying out assessments with patients in their own homes, therefore, the ability to travel independently is an essential part of this job.
