Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse who is looking for an opportunity to work within the field of Community Stoma Care nursing.
This post will allow the successful candidate to enhance and share their knowledge and skills within the specialist field of stoma care management, colorectal nursing and non-medical prescribing.
The applicant must proactive and have a keen interest in stoma care management and colorectal nursing and be able to demonstrate this.
They must also be committed to providing an excellent standard of patient care and be committed to their own professional development. He/she will be expected to have excellent communication skills and be supportive and open to new initiatives.
Please note consideration will be made for applicants who do not meet the full criteria/qualifications of the role, who have considerable experience. This would be a developmental role paid at band 6 with the transfer to band 7 on completion of the full qualification / competencies for the role (please view both job descriptions and person specifications)
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:-
o Work within a team of specialist nurses alongside, clerical support staff in the prescribing service.
o The post holder will liaise with healthcare providers/ social services / education and other agencies across the Tees Valley.
o Demonstrate specialised communication techniques and interpersonal skills in relaying both highly sensitive and complex information with respect and sensitivity.
o Attend local, regional, national, and international nursing forums.
o Demonstrate a high level of ability to discuss complex issues, negotiate, facilitate concordance, and maintain open communication with patients, their families, carers, and local organisations.
Successful candidate must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes.
