Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Learning and Development team within STRIVE Academic Centre at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a Programme Coordinator for careers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team and support internal staff and external people to explore their career pathways in the NHS.

This is a full time position, but there is some flexibility in hours for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone with a high level of attention to details and who loves motivating and supporting others to succeed.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is to be the key point of contact for raising awareness of career opportunities and pathways within the NHS, working closely with Trust staff, businesses, networks, local schools, and colleges. The post holder is responsible for promoting Trust careers and training programmes with the wider Trust, community organisations, businesses, schools, parents, and students across the region.

This will involve facilitation and participation of career events across internal and external sites; liaising with senior colleagues (clinicians, medical, nursing, AHP, science and corporate); pastoral care and promotion of the Trust through written marketing materials. The postholder will manage all aspects of the careers and engagement project to ensure successful engagement with all stakeholders.

The post holder will coach and mentor external, internal and employability staff with career pathways and interview techniques / preparation.

The post-holder will also be required to provide statistical information to the L&D team, senior management and stakeholders. The reports will contain data and analysis which clearly identify areas of concern in order that actions can be taken in a timely manner.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5 and 7.
