Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Physiotherapist within the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust .
This role will work with Service Management teams and the Professions Lead to support the development of the longer term strategic direction for all Allied Healthcare Professionals across the collaboratives in partnership with the Chief AHP.
As the senior managerial leader in the clinical service, the Head of Physiotherapy will work with the professions lead and service managers in setting the directorate strategy and leading business development activities.
As a key leader the head of physiotherapy will provide leadership, facilitation and direction to physiotherapy staff across the organisation and through professional leadership they are responsible for providing high quality patient focused therapy services.
This role will work with Service Management teams and the Professions Lead to support the development of the longer term strategic direction for all Allied Healthcare Professionals across the collaboratives in partnership with the Chief AHP.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Physiotherapy has responsibility for the development and clinical supervision for all the physiotherapists, together with the Professions Lead providing expert advice and guidance. The role will support delivery of the Trust wide Physiotherapy strategic plan, objectives, target and measures ensuring performance objectives relating to physiotherapy staff and services are achieved.
A key part of the role will be to maintain leadership within their specific registration. They will ensure that legal and professional responsibilities are met by the profession through compliance with the regulatory requirements of the HCPC and the relevant professional body.
The Head of Physiotherapy will support services on a day to day basis by ensuring operational resilience and efficiency. The Head of Physiotherapy will maintain a close working relationship with and report regularly to the Professions Lead for key
As a strong communicator and change agent the Head of Physiotherapy will be very present on the frontline and will demonstrate strong personal leadership and direction whilst at the same time building effective leadership and management teams at all levels within the Directorates and Clinical Service to ensure organisational sustainability.
