Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed clinic administrator to join our administration team within Cardiology.

The clinic administrators role is extremely busy and varied, requiring someone who is able to demonstrate the ability to cope with the demands of the services.

This is a customer-facing role and the successful post holder therefore needs to have excellent telephone skills and on occasion be able to deal with difficult conversations.

It is essential that the post holder is an excellent team player and has the ability to prioritise and manage all requests in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will be joining a friendly and supportive team who provide a high quality service to patients.

The main roles would involve booking appointments on the various departmental computer systems, sending test results out to clinicians within the hospital and handling medical notes and filing where appropriate.

The role requires 37.5 hours per week we are happy to consider part time roles that may be able to job share. (must be flexible)

Main duties of the job

  • To book patient diagnostics appointments
  • To ensure patient referrals, reports and queries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.
  • To provide key administration support to the department
  • To assist delivery of Cardiac Diagnostics
  • To provide a pleasant, welcoming and effective Reception service to patients, relative's & visitors to the department.

To offer support and assistance to the Cardiology outpatient that is appropriate to their skill set

  • Conversant with secretarial procedures/administrative processes within the NHS

  • Experience on PAS system,
  • Experience using Cardiology booking systems.
