Job summary
South Tees Hospitals Research Department are looking for an enthusiastic motivated individual to join our Research delivery Team - medicine as a Clinical Trials Assistant, supporting a number of dynamic research studies.
The post holder will support the research team, providing clinical and data support to ensure the successful delivery of many research trials and to provide a smooth and effective patient journey. This is a varied role, working directly with patients on clinical trials and other healthcare professionals, as well as trial data reporting and other general administrative tasks.
The applicant will be motivated, have excellent organisational and communication skills and be computer literate. Previous research experience is not essential.
We work in a team environment that encourages collaborative team working but also supports lone working. Background knowledge in research trials is desired but on the job training will be given to the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to provide support to the wider research team in participant recruitment, management and follow-up of clinical trials. The post holder will work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team in the co-ordination of clinical studies to maintain support for all clinical trial participants, thus ensuring delivery of a high quality research service. Local, national and international research regulations are to be adhered to with an express commitment to abide by the NHS values and the Constitution.This role will involve working closely with the Clinical Research Team Leaders, Clinical Trials Team, Consultants and all members of the multi-disciplinary team to increase participant recruitment into clinical trials. Data management is a key component of trials and the post holder's remit will include this aspect as well as basic clinical duties such as taking participant vital signs, venipuncture and assisting with quality of life questionnaires.
