Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a new Deputy Chief Operating Officer to provide leadership and accountability for a number of Trust wide improvement programmes with a specific focus on Elective care. The post-holder will have a key operational focus on the delivery of key national standards relating to Elective care (RTT, Cancer and Diagnostics). This role will specifically focus on continuous improvement in our elective pathways, working closely with our clinical and operational team to maximise productivity, improve patient experience and support high quality care. The postholder will be key to enabling improvement through our Outpatient and Surgical Improvement Groups. As a highly talented and visible leader the post-holder will be expected to work across the full range of services provided by the organisation to improve timely access to care and develop new, innovative ways of working.
Main duties of the job
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer this role will play an instrumental part in enabling and driving our operational excellence across all patient pathways, acting as the key operational link with a number of our system partners.
Ensuring the day-to-day delivery of performance, develop and build our change capability, and support our mission to put safety and quality first. The post-holder will act as a key link across all of our elective care pathways, ensuring new ways of working are embedded organisation-wide across all sites.

- Detailed knowledge of current acute Trust issues and the regulatory Framework for Trusts
