Job summary
This is a part-time post working 30 hours per week.
The Women's & Children's directorate seeks a motivated, organised and dynamic person with excellent statistical skills, IT skills, problem-solving ability and administration skills to join the Obstetrics team working on the NHS Screening programme's in the role of a Failsafe Officer.
A key element of this role will also be supporting the failsafe process in the analysis, development and implementation of NHS screening programmes. This will involve undertaking detailed analysis and interpretation of screening data to support the intelligence outputs from the various systems to produce cohort and outcome data sets.
You will have a broad awareness of NHS Screening programmes and be able to translate this into actionable intelligence for stakeholders via interrogating and merging varied data sets. This will also involve providing feedback to staff in terms of delivering a failsafe that all women have been captured on the screening pathway and have an outcome in place and the production and presentation of KPI data sets.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will be proactive and able to take decisive action. The failsafe officer will need to work collaboratively with key local stakeholders, Midwives, nurses and various administrative/IT teams to deliver the division's objectives and the national antenatal and newborn screening/cervical screening programmes. On a day-to-day basis, the failsafe officer will oversee the failsafe processes and data collection, working closely with the screening midwives, Gynae specialist nurses and admin support.
