Job summary
A great opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Audit Support role within our well respected Cardiothoracic Audit team. This is a good opportunity for someone who will be based within the Cardiothoracic Audit Dept at James Cook University Hospital. The main duties consist of obtaining health records, use of the CaMIS system and liaising with the Health Records Department. Additional duties will include taking telephone calls, entering non-clinical data into internal and external audit databases/systems, dealing with internal staff, assisting with filing and photocopying.
The successful applicant will have a good standard of education, basic IT skills and ideally have some knowledge of CaMIS, although full training and support will be given. Previous clerical experience would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of this post is to complement the service provided by the Cardiothoracic Audit Department in locating and obtaining medical records, collecting, and entering data and other admin tasks.
The main duties will be obtaining patients medical records using the CaMIS system; liaising with the Medical Records Department, Medical Secretaries, and other hospital departments in all aspects of case note retrieval and filing; electronically updating and recording all records movements whilst ensuring that all patient notes are returned promptly to the appropriate source. There will also be a requirement to enter data into national, regional, and local audit databases ensuring accuracy and maintaining a high standard of quality of data.
Dealing with general enquiries from audit staff, secretaries, ward clerks, health records department and consultants. To perform any other duties appropriate to the grade as requested by the post-holder's line manager.
