An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant Practitioner to join a busy Imaging team within the Eye Outpatients Department.
The candidate should have experience of working in Ophthalmology / Ophthalmic Imaging. We are looking for a full time Ophthalmic Assistant Practitioner to work in the department as a Band 3 while training then will move to a Band 4 once training is completed.
Main duties of the job
Some duties will include disc imaging, Optical Coherence Tomography, retinal imaging, fluorescein angiography and slit lamp photography.
Preference will be given to those currently working within ophthalmology although previous experience of similar work would be an advantage.
You will need to be a good communicator as you will be dealing with all age groups with visual impairment. Must have clear speech, when necessary work in low light conditions and able to move wheelchair bound patients. The successful applicant will be asked to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a busy team.
