Job summary

We are inviting applications for the position of Department Manager with responsibility for Quality Management, Department of Reproductive Medicine, Ward 18. This post has become available due to the promotion of the current post-holder and would suit clinical or non-clinical colleagues with relevant transferrable skills and experience.

It is anticipated that applicants may not currently have all of the knowledge required in relation to assisted conception and the regulatory requirements and therefore we welcome applications from colleagues wishing to develop and learn further. You will need to have some experience of line management, be a good administrator and have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as the intellectual capacity to understand and disseminate complex information. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to lead effectively and have excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build constructive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

The Manager has operational responsibility for ensuring that the service provides high quality and safe assisted conception services within the legal framework, as regulated by the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority. You will provide leadership and cohesion to nursing, embryology, clinical and administrative staff and will oversee the safe provision of services using an established quality management system. You will work closely with the senior team to forecast throughput, allocate resources appropriately and respond to workforce challenges.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
