Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hull York Medical School (HYMS) Admin Lead based in the STRIVE Academic Centre at Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.
The successful candidate will provide support to the Clinical Dean and Phase II Lead in the successful delivery of the undergraduate medical education model at Friarage Hospital.
The post holder will assist with general administration duties, co-ordination of timetables to assist with preparation and delivery of the undergraduate teaching programme to medical students within the Trust.
This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met.They will need to be able to work under pressure using their own initiative.
Applicants should also have excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure all deadlines are achieved.
This job role will include travel to other sites and education establishments as required.
It is highly recommended that applicants have been to the Department.
Close liaison with undergraduate manager/deputy manager to ensure that undergraduate programmes are planned and executed.
Main duties of the job
Assist with the creation and production of local study guides including multi-stranded timetables for all student rotations and relevant information is uploaded to the HYMS IT system, blackboard, in a timely manner.
Ensuring all GP practices are aware of the training requirement and placement details for the medical students.
Assist in the organisation and day to day operational delivery of medical education e.g. lunchtime lectures, seminars within FHN, link for clinicians, GP's, Library and FHN estates.
To co-ordinate and be responsible for aspects of medical education as required across both sites.
Act as key contact for all medical students at FHN.
To provide administrative support to the DME, Phase II Lead, Clinical Dean, Clinical Teaching Fellow, Clinical Lecturer and medical education management team.
Ensuring all highly sensitive pastoral information is appropriately escalated to the Phase II Lead, Clinical Dean and Medical School.
To provide data for assurance reports, quality management, operational key performance indicators in line with operational requirements of STRIVE.
Tracking of student placements between the Trust, GP practice and learning sessions within STRIVE Academic Centre, ensuring all medical students are following their training pathway.
Contributes to the annual review of the trust self-assessment report (SAR)
