Job summary
An exciting opportunity to lead the Learning & Development Team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has become available.
The Learning and Development Team are responsible for delivering and designing programmes that are role-relevant and health sector endorsed. Providing the highest quality and most engaging and skilled tutors, trainers, and assessors, we look to employ the most effective, appropriate, and innovative delivery in conjunction with assessment methods.
The Operational Team Lead will ensure the apprenticeship levy is utilised and accounted for, will co-ordinate apprenticeships and all other learning requirements (e.g., Work based Learning Portfolio and Prospect Employability programme).
Maintenance of excellent quality learning and assurance is key and this post will ensure all assurance analysis and reporting is of the highest level and that service change is implemented to ensure continuation of high-quality learning and education.
The aim of the team is to support career and personal development for the healthcare support workforce. The team links closely with the Trust Learning Partners, HR and the Leadership and Improvement Team; joint working between the teams is essential to meet the business requirement of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is accountable for the creation, co-ordination and delivery of the Learning and Development Team's programmes of learning,
They will commission and work with the Learning Advisors to deploy blended modules of virtual and classroom-based learning to create a robust Learning and development infrastructure to support learning and development delivery.
To lead the organisation and facilitation of Learning programmes to embed the apprenticeship framework and ensure that the learning and Development (L&D) strategy for learning is met and that all learning interventions are linked to the Trust People Plan; this will involve synthesising high level strategic information to ensure that the Learning and Development Team meet organisational objectives.
Ensure that the Learning and Development Team proactively respond to the needs of the organisation and has a visible presence within the Trust. The post holder will identify work-based learning, programmes and services that can be offered both internally and to external organisations as an opportunity to generate income and support the Trust's corporate social responsibility.
The post holder will line manage and provide leadership and support to the Learning Advisors and wider administration and support functions. The post holder will be required to undertake leadership development training.
