Are you ready for a challenge and wanting to develop your specialist clinical and leadership skills? We have an exciting opportunity to work alongside our existing Nutrition Nurses as part of the multi-disciplinary Trust Nutrition Team and are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic nurse wishing to specialise in nutrition.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist nursing expertise and advice in the nutritional management of patients across the Trust, supporting the wider nutrition agenda, including enteral and parenteral nutrition, alongside Nutrition Nurse Specialist colleagues, as relevant to post.
To act as a resource to patients, carers and staff and a liaison between secondary and external / primary care agencies to maintain seamless provision of services to patients.
The successful candidate will work very closely with our dietetic service and other MDT colleagues and will have a significant role in progressing service improvements with enteral tube feeding pathways, particularly in nasogastric and nasojejunal/jejunal feeding. Development and delivery of education and training packages will also be a priority for this post holder in order to promote patient safety and excellence in practice in the delivery of nutritional support.
Applicants must have current UK professional registration. This post is ideal for a senior nurse with a high level of skill and experience preferably with or working towards a higher degree. The role will require cross site working in order to support clinical colleagues across inpatient areas and provide support to primary care teams.
This post will close once sufficient applications have been received.
