An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated person to join our team.
The person appointed will work between the James Cook Hospital and Friarage Hospitals (& may be asked to work at Redcar Primary Care Hospital occasionally).
General duties include manually cleaning and automated processing of flexible scopes which have been used in surgical/testing procedures within the Endoscopy and other clinical departments within the three hospitals.
Operation of Endoscope Washer Disinfectors (EWD's) and endoscope storage/drying cabinets plus any other related endoscope decontamination equipment.
Use a computerised flexible endoscope tracking and traceability system. Including production of labelling and documentation to prove compliance with all of the required decontamination standards.
Main duties of the job
Full training will be given in all of the above.
It is essential that candidates have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are capable of working in a service driven by deadlines and turnaround times.
This will involve weekend work and candidates must be able to work very flexibly to the needs of the service (as this service is ever changing/growing).
The service currently operates from 7am to 8pm but earlier starts/later finishes may be necessary on occasion. Candidates who work at The James Cook University Hospital will also be part of a 24 hour on-call rota so must not have commitments that would stop them attending work during the night/over weekends etc.
Ideally the candidates will be a car owner and driver in order that they can transport themselves between the three hospital sites/to the hospital out of public transport hours.
It is suggested that all candidates who are interested in this post visit one of the departments prior to interview as you will be expected to display that you understand the role.

Base
The person appointed to the post will be based between the above hospitals to the needs of the service. One site will be chosen as the main base and the other two sites will be worked on to the needs of the services.
