Job summary
To provide specialist safeguarding adults' advice and support, safeguarding supervision and multi-disciplinary training in relation to adults at risk of abuse or neglect across South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ensuring good, effective, and safe practice.
To act in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and assist in monitoring standards and procedures for safeguarding adults in the Trust.
To work closely with Adult Social Care and other partner agencies to support the development of integrated locality working and provide safeguarding adults advice on health matters.
To contribute to multi-agency and Trust audits and lead programmes of work to improve safeguarding policies and practice in collaboration with the Named Nurse Safeguarding Adults.
To support the Named Nurse Safeguarding Adults in service development and implementation of learning from Local and National safeguarding reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews.
To contribute to the education and training requirements for safeguarding across the Trust to ensure that the principles of safeguarding are promoted and embedded into every day professional practice.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Nurse / Practitioner Safeguarding Adults, you will have a key role in promoting good professional practice and supporting key elements of the safeguarding agenda. Under the guidance of the Named Nurse Safeguarding Adults you will take the lead in providing specialist safeguarding advice and safeguarding supervision related to safeguarding adults; you will also support the education of staff to ensure high quality clinical practice .
You will contribute to developing and supporting the skills of frontline practitioners, particularly in relation to assessment of risk with outcome based solutions focused on the personalised needs of adults at risk of abuse or neglect.
The post holder should have significant experience of working with adults at risks and have an in depth knowledge base and understanding of safeguarding adults. This includes representing the trust at multi agency meetings; therefore experience in multi agency working is beneficial.
You will be expected to develop your skills as a Specialist Nurse / Practitioner Safeguarding Adults within the framework of the job description.
